YOUR DONATIONS ARE NEEDED TO HELP AS MANY HOMELESS BORDER COLLIES AS POSSIBLE

Contact Us

We have tried to provide you as much information as possible about our organization, Border Collies as a breed, the dogs we rescue and our adoption process on this website, and would encourage you to look through the site for the information you require before contacting us.

GENERAL INQUIRIES: info@nebcr.org

APPLYING TO ADOPT:
For information on adopting a dog, and a link to our online application, please review our "Adopting a Border Collie" page.

PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE 800# TO REQUEST AN APPLICATION unless you do not have internet access.

If you wish to check on the status of your completed application, please email us at applications@nebcr.org. Do not call the 800# unless you do not have access to email. This phone line is intended for emergencies and dog relinquishments only.

RELINQUISHING A DOG: intake@nebcr.org or call 800-760-1569
PLEASE READ the information on Giving up a Border Collie BEFORE you contact us about relinquishing your dog.

FOR EMERGENCIES OR TO RELINQUISH A DOG *ONLY*
PLEASE CALL 1-800-760-1569
(note: you may call this number for information ONLY if you do not have internet access)

Please note that this number is NOT staffed 24/7. Messages are checked regularly by NEBCR volunteers, and someone will return you call as soon as humanly possible.

AS WE HAVE LIMITED VOLUNTEER RESOURCES, WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO RETURN CALLS MADE TO THE 800# TO REQUEST AN APPLICATION OR CHECK ON THE STATUS OF AN APPLICATION (see above) OR TO INQUIRE ABOUT A DOG ON OUR WEBSITE (see below).

Once a dog is available for adoption, contact information will be posted for that dog. WE WILL NOT GIVE OUT INFORMATION ON DOGS NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION, as these dogs are still under evaluation.

While NEBCR volunteers share all information within the group pertaining to applications and home visits, ONLY the contact person listed for a particular dog can give you information on that dog, as he/she has the most current information and will be the person directly involved in making the placement decision for that dog.

FOR GENERAL BORDER COLLIE INFORMATION, PLEASE REVIEW THIS WEBSITE.
We have done a lot of work compiling information to give you the best possible picture of what Border Collies are like as a breed, how to determine whether a Border Collie is the right dog for you, and how to adopt a Border Collie from NEBCR. As our volunteer resources are limited and often taken up caring for dogs in need, we appreciate your assistance in using this website as your primary resource for obtaining this information.

Privacy Policy

POTENTIAL ADOPTERS: While we do occasionally receive requests from other rescue groups to share home visit reports (and will do so ONLY with the applicant's permission), we feel that it is the responsibility of each individual rescue group to properly screen their own adopters according to their specific policies and operating procedures. Any application submitted to NEBCR is kept private to the group, and your information will not be shared elsewhere.

RELINQUISHING OWNERS: It is against our policy to provide you with specific information on the person that fosters or adopts your dog. You will be required to sign a relinquishment agreement in which you give up all rights of ownership of your dog to the care of NEBCR, Inc. You will not have input as to who fosters or adopts your dog in the future, and you must trust that we will make all decisions in your dog's best interests, based on our MANY years of experience in rescue and with Border Collies as a breed. We can provide you with general updates on your dog's well-being only if you contact us in the future. IF an adopter wishes to be in contact with you, we can pass along your information to them, but it will be their decision.

ADOPTERS: We will not give out your personal or contact information to the previous owner of the dog you have adopted without your permission.

ALL WEB VIEWERS: NEBCR, Inc. will NEVER sell or distribute the personal information submitted via our adoption application, foster home application, volunteer application or through our online store, to ANY third party. Such information will be retained solely for the use of New England Border Collie Rescue, Inc. (NEBCR)
