About Sunny
** Adopted **
Sunshine (Sunny) has the looks!
This two-year-old beauty has a lot of positives but she also has some issues we are working on. She has a very intimidating bark when meeting new people. However, she warms up quickly to those brave enough to ignore her seemingly unfriendly initial approach.
Sunny loves balls and likes to carry one (or two) in her mouth while also swatting another one across the floor like a soccer player. She self entertains but also loves to engage with people who will throw or kick a ball for her.
Sunny had very little socialization in her first two years of life. She spent a lot of time in a crate and her previous owners said they didn’t like her energy around their young children.
A few months ago Sunny had a run-in with a porcupine that resulted in three trips to the vet for quills in her face. It seems those traumatic (and painful) experiences left her very frightened of
the vet office. She must wear a muzzle when going to the vet.
Cats don’t seem to be of interest to Sunny and she doesn’t have typical fears of thunder or fireworks or the vacuum cleaner, etc. She enjoys playing with the resident playful pup and she loves to swim (fetching water toys).
Sunny should not go to a home with young children. A fenced-in yard is always ideal and a home where someone is home a lot would be best as she has a fear of missing out.
