NEBCR, Inc. has dogs in foster care for at least a two week evaluation period before they are made available for adoption. NEBCR dogs are not “first come first served” but are matched up to the homes that best meet their needs based on what our volunteer foster homes learn about them.

You must have an approved application on file to be considered for any NEBCR rescue dog. Please review “Adopting a Border Collie” to find out how to adopt a dog from NEBCR and submit your application BEFORE inquiring about a particular dog.

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot give out information on dogs that are not yet available for adoption, as these dogs are still under evaluation. Once a dog is available for adoption, only the contact person listed in that dog’s bio can give you information on that dog.

New To Rescue

All NEBCR dogs spend a minimum of 2 weeks being evaluated by their foster home before being made available for adoption.
Dogs with health or behavioral issues, may need to spend more time with their foster homes before being available for adoption.
