Icon
Icon (DOB 12/31/2022) is a border collie born as the result of an accidental merle to merle breeding. He is deaf and has limited vision, neither of which bother him at all.
He is very handsome and very sweet! He is neutered, and he is up to date on vaccines and preventatives. He is insured with Embrace Pet Insurance and the policy is transferable to his adopter.
Icon has good leash skills and greatly enjoys walking, running, or hiking on lead. He’s easy going and non-reactive to people and dogs.
His ideal home would be an individual or couple without other pets. It’s not that he doesn’t like other pets, it’s that his herding genes kick in and he becomes obsessed with trying to control their movement, and really struggles to settle.
The other pets do not appreciate his obsession and no one ends up happy.
He could likely coexist with a calmer, no-nonsense type of dog. He does great with other dogs when on-leash on a walk or a hike, and enjoys such group outings.
Icon adores attention and petting. He has a lovely easy to care for coat. He is good for nail trims and baths.
Icon is being foster about 30 minutes south of Albany, NY.
