Meet Duke: A Gentle Soul Looking for a Patient Home!

Duke is a handsome, sweet-natured boy who is learning that the world can be a safe place again. After experiencing a lot of change in a short period of time, Duke is still very timid and unsure of new things.

Loud noises, opening doors, sudden movements, and unfamiliar situations can be scary for him, but underneath that nervous exterior is an incredibly loving dog who just wants to feel secure.

Duke thrives with patience, kindness, and routine.

His ideal home would be a quieter environment without a lot of chaos or constant visitors. Duke could likely benefit from having another calm, confident dog in the home one who can model a predictable routine but isn’t overly interested in being in his space all the time.

This special boy isn’t looking for perfection. He’s looking for someone willing to meet him where he is and celebrate the little wins along the way. In return, you’ll get the privilege of watching a truly sweet dog blossom into the companion he’s meant to be.

Duke is very much a work in progress, but he’s worth every ounce of patience. If you’re looking for a gentle heart to nurture and a rewarding journey to share, Duke may be your perfect match.

• Duke has done okay around cats.
• It is unknown how Duke is with kids.
• Duke was born in 2019, and is currently 40ish lbs.
• A fence is preferred to keep him safe given his fears, but would be considered on a case by case basis.
• Training is a requirement for Duke given his fears, as this would be a great bonding experience with his adopter.
