About Dash
Meet Dash
More than anything, Dash is simply a happy boy.
Dash is a handsome three-year-old smooth coat Border Collie with a tail that never seems to stop wagging. He loves sharing life with his people. Whether you’re heading out for a hike, tossing a ball, or relaxing at home, Dash is happiest when he’s by your side.

If you’re looking for a cuddler, Dash has you covered. He absolutely loves affection and never says no to hugs, belly rubs, or couch time. One of his favorite places to be is curled up beside you or even better, asleep with his head in your lap or tucked into your arms.
Dash has settled into foster care remarkably well. One of the first things you’ll notice about him is how much he enjoys meeting new people. He greets visitors with a happy wagging tail and seems convinced that every new person is a potential friend. Dash absolutely loves the attention that comes with having guests over and happily soaks up every pet, ear scratch, and belly rub he can get.

He’s also done very well with children he has met (ages 5 and up), enjoying both their company and attention. Because Dash has not been tested with younger children or babies, we can’t say how he would do with them.
He has fit right in with the resident Border Collies and especially enjoys playing with the two younger dogs in his foster home. Watching them romp around together is a daily reminder of what a social, playful dog he is. As with any dog, thoughtful introductions and time to decompress are always important, but his foster family has been continually impressed with how adaptable, friendly, and eager to please he is.

Like any young Border Collie, Dash thrives with daily exercise and mental enrichment. He loves long walks, hikes, games of fetch, and exploring the outdoors. He also has a wonderfully goofy side, and watching him enthusiastically chase a ball with all the excitement of an oversized puppy, despite not always having the coordination to match, is guaranteed to make you smile.

Dash is highly food motivated, already has a solid foundation in basic manners, and responds beautifully to positive reinforcement. His recall has been excellent in foster care, and he genuinely enjoys learning alongside his people.
Like many dogs adjusting to a major life change, Dash initially showed a little separation anxiety and some mild possessiveness around his people. Those behaviors have improved dramatically in just two weeks with consistency, routine, and positive reinforcement, and his foster family expects him to continue blossoming as he settles into his forever home.

And one more thing: Dash has excellent taste in snacks. Watermelon is his absolute favorite, and he’ll happily help you enjoy just about any fruit you’re willing to share!
If you’re ready for a happy Border Collie who will keep you active, make you laugh with his goofy antics, and happily curl up in your lap when the day is done, Dash is waiting to meet you.
