About Jesse

Meet Jesse!

As we lovely refer to him as “Jesse James” (Outlaw).

WANTED to be adopted! Jesse is looking for his furever home to take him on new and exciting adventures. Unlike his predecessor, our Jesse’s adventures include hiking, sniff walks, playing ball /frisbee, squeak toys, tricks, tetherball and nighttime cuddling.

He is an excellent traveler in the car and was well behaved during an overnight stay at a hotel.

Jesse is smart, he even has a “smart bump” to prove it! He has a strong foundation of basic cues / commands, with a very nice auto sit as well as knowing place, wait, stay, back, give paw, bring ball closer, drop it, paw up, paw on light, plus is crate trained.

He is very treat motivated, enjoys learning which makes him a wonderful candidate for trick training, free style or rally.

In addition, Jesse has a heck of a nose and has shown natural instincts for activity/sport such as Nose Work, Tracking or Man trailing.

He can walk nicely on a leash and has a good recall until his nose kicks into action. Nothing is more exciting than to search out that smell, so walking nicely on leash (pulling) and recall in those situations are still a work in progress. His ideal home should include daily sniff walks along with playing ball. Jesse does have a nice off switch and does consider himself a lap dog for those afternoon naps.

Jesse is not a swimmer but loves to play chasing games with the water from the garden hose.

He is friendly with people, good with other dogs and can be placed in a home with dog savvy cats. He has lived with kids but feels kids over 13 would be a better fit.

Jesse does tend to be vocal at first sighting new people or dogs in the distance but recovers quickly. He is not a big fan of bicyclists, skateboarders or joggers but does not try to chase cars.

He will need extra patience with grooming and visits to the Veterinary.

Jesse will do the best in a home that is calm with an active daily routine /adventure. He is up for anything, making a loyal loving companion or team sport dog.

Jesse will continue to blossom in a relatively quiet home with structure. Does Jesse sound like a good match for your lifestyle?

Looking forward to hearing from you.
